• Identifying the social, environmental and cultural aspects of a community that inform and impact care needs;
• Appreciating traditional and Indigenous medicines and approaches to healing as part of a holistic care system; and
• Exploring the similarities and differences in northern health care across the circumpolar region.

Building on the principles explored in Foundations of Intercultural Teaching, this resource introduces educators to educational strategies that can foster more inclusive, equitable, and just classroom environments.  Practices focus on creating classroom environments that support the needs of diverse learners, while at the same time creating an enhanced learning environment for all.  Topics include:

Physical Geology is a comprehensive introductory text on the physical aspects of geology, including rocks and minerals, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, glaciation, groundwater, streams, coasts, mass wasting, climate change, planetary geology and much more. This starter kit has been created to provide instructors with an introduction to the use and creation of open educational resources (OER). The text is broken into five sections: Getting Started, Copyright, Finding OER, Teaching with OER, and Creating OER. Each chapter is accompanied with learning objectives and most chapters feature interactive elements and opportunities for readers to engage with the text. Although some chapters contain more advanced content, the starter kit is primarily intended for users who are entirely new to Open Education.
