Pressbooks LTI and Results Introduction
What is Pressbooks Results?
Pressbooks Results is a new feature for enterprise Pressbooks networks which supports effective learning. When configured, it uses the LTI standard to safely and securely send students’ scores from interactive H5P activities within Pressbooks chapters to the learning management system (LMS) gradebook. It also includes a Pressbooks Results Viewer interface that allows instructors and students to see more information about how students performed on individual activities and better understand how their overall grade was calculated for each graded chapter. Instructors can use Pressbooks Results with any LMS that support the LTI standard, including Blackboard, Canvas, D2L Brightspace, and Moodle.

- Invite learners to test their knowledge with formative assessments

What difference does Pressbooks Results make?
Learning science research provides strong causal evidence for the “doer effect,” the phenomenon that student outcomes improve as learners complete more online interactive practice activities. Pressbooks Results empowers instructors to engage the “doer effect” in their classrooms by combining online interactive practice activities (created with H5P) with the incentive of giving gradebook credit for effort spent mastering these activities.

Troubleshooting
Pressbooks Results has been thoroughly tested on a wide variety of operating systems and browsers, and should work without issue for most users. The most common cause for a student’s grades not being updated correctly are browser settings. In order for grades to update, third-party cookies need to be allowed. See our guide for more details.
